Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has launched its first Double XP weekend for Season 2, but not without leaving players feeling a bit let down.

While the event, running from February 6 to February 10, offers Double Level XP, Double Weapon XP, and a boosted Gobblegum earn rate, it notably excludes Double Battle Pass XP—much to the frustration of fans hoping to speed up their progression.

Free Trial Weekend Adds More Content for New Players

In addition to the Double XP event, Activision has rolled out a free trial weekend for Black Ops 6. Available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC until February 10, the trial lets newcomers dive into the action without spending a dime.

Players can explore 10 multiplayer maps, including iconic battlegrounds like Nuketown and Stakeout, along with five game modes and two Zombies maps—one being the newly launched “The Tomb.”

With plenty of Season 2 content on offer, plus the introduction of the Overdrive mode, now’s the ideal time for curious players to experience what Black Ops 6 has to offer before committing to a full purchase.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Players Frustrated Over Missing Double Battle Pass XP

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s latest Double XP weekend is in full swing, but it’s left many players disappointed. Developer Treyarch Studios has opted not to include Double Battle Pass XP in this event, focusing instead on Double Level XP, Double Weapon XP, and Double Gobblegum earnings in Zombies mode.

Community Reactions Highlight Growing Frustration

The absence of Double Battle Pass XP hasn’t gone unnoticed, sparking frustration within the community. A Reddit post criticizing the decision has quickly gained traction, racking up hundreds of upvotes.

User Masonalex66 vented their frustration, saying they “hate” when Treyarch hosts Double XP events without including Battle Pass XP boosts.

Others echoed this sentiment, with Dominjo555 commenting that they “don’t need” extra weapon or level XP—they’re solely interested in Battle Pass progression, making the current event “a no” for them.

It’s clear that while the event offers valuable XP boosts, many players feel that leaving out Double Battle Pass XP misses the mark.

Black Ops 6 Players Eager for Double Battle Pass XP to Boost Season 2 Progress

Season 2 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has been live for just over a week, and fans are already eager to grind through the new Battle Pass and claim all the rewards it offers.

Much like previous Call of Duty seasons, this Battle Pass is packed with a mix of cosmetic items and consumables. Players can unlock everything from Double XP Tokens and weapon blueprints to fresh operator skins.

Missed Opportunity for Enhanced Player Engagement

A full weekend of Double Battle Pass XP would’ve been the perfect chance for players to speed up their progress and maximize their unlocks.

Unfortunately, with the current event missing this feature, many are left wishing for that extra boost to power through the new content.

Black Ops 6 Double XP Event Disrupted by PlayStation Network Outage

The ongoing PlayStation Network outage has put a damper on Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s Double XP event, leaving many players frustrated.

While Xbox and PC users can continue enjoying the event without issues, PlayStation players have been sidelined, as PSN has been down for over 13 hours. This unexpected downtime has impacted several multiplayer games, including Black Ops 6.

Will Treyarch Extend the Double XP Weekend?

Sony has acknowledged the outage on social media, assuring players that they are “working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.” However, it’s still unclear whether Treyarch will extend the Double XP weekend to make up for the lost time PlayStation users have experienced.
